FAREWELL: Captain Thomas Lindner sets course for retirement

After a remarkable maritime career and many years of dedicated service, our highly esteemed instructor Captain Thomas Lindner is bidding farewell to enter a well-deserved retirement—though fortunately, he remains part of the MTC team.

His professional background speaks for itself: since earning his master’s license in 1983, he spent six years in command at sea before dedicating nearly 30 years as a pilot in the Port of Hamburg.

Since joining the MTC as an instructor in 2022, he has generously shared his wealth of experience with our course participants and colleagues alike. Beyond our standard training sessions in the classroom and on the simulator, Thomas was heavily involved in MTC’s specialized project work. He actively supported our team in conducting complex feasibility studies to define port approach conditions, as well as executing detailed accident investigations. Furthermore, his deep expertise in mathematical ship modeling has been vital to the continuous development of our highly realistic simulation environment.

We thank Captain Lindner for his dedication, reliability, and the invaluable contributions he has made to MTC and our broad range of services.

Fortunately, this is not a final goodbye. We are delighted that he will continue to support us occasionally as an external instructor and consultant, passing on his extensive maritime knowledge to the next generation of professionals.

Thank you for your patience, diligence, and tireless commitment, Thomas! We wish you a wonderful retirement and look forward to welcoming you back on board from time to time.

Fair winds and following seas for this next chapter!
