  • how to start up entire engine room plants from “cold-ship” condition
Objectives
  • to provide deck officers with knowledge of the operating principles of marine power plants
  • to provide deck officers with knowledge of the operating principles of ships’ auxiliary machinery
  • to provide deck officers with general knowledge of marine engineering terms
  • to provide knowledge and skills to operate, supervise and monitor the safe operation and control of a ship’s machinery installation in accordance with provisions of Section A-II/2 and A-III/1 of the STCW 78 as amended
  • to achieve proper familiarization of engine room systems, associated equipment and its operation
  • to understand the interdependency of the various machinery units and systems
Entry Standards
The course is aimed at, but not limited to, the following groups of people:
  • Deck officers who wish to improve their understanding of engine room operations
  • Office personnel, purchase department
Certification
On successful completion the participant will receive a MTC certificate

Engine simulator with engine room, ECR, emergency switchbord room
