Description

An essentially practical course which consist of a series of exercises structured around the operation of the cargo and ballast installation of LNG and LPG tanker and carried out in conjunction with a simulator which is in compliance with DNV ST-033 Standard “Maritime simulator systems”. The course is in accordance with DNV ST-008 Standard “Learning Programmes” and conforms to the SIGTTO Shipping Suggested Competency Standards and aligns with IMO Model Courses 1.35 “Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator” and 1.36 “Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator”.

Objectives

The trainees who successfully complete the course will make a safer and more effective contribution to the operation and control of the cargo and ballast installation of a liquefied gas tanker, which will improve the ship safety and provide greater protection of the environment.

Entry standards

The course is open to those already holding relevant cargo endorsements.

Certification

On successful completion of this course a certificate will be issued confirming that the holder has successfully completed Gas Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator course in compliance with IMO model courses 1.35 and 1.36
