Description

The purpose of this workshop is to improve the ability to assess particular situations and to conduct an exchange of information with the master and/or officer in charge of navigational watch. Maintaining an effective working relationship between the pilot and the bridge team in both routine and emergency conditions.

Objectives

The following subjects will be covered

  • Effectiveness of the communication and information exchange between the pilot, the master and other bridge personnel
  • Mutual understanding for the functions and duties of the others
  • Effective co-ordination between the pilot, master and other ship’s personnel

Entry standards

Masters, Nautical Officers and Shorebased Personnel

Certification

On successful completion the participant will receive a certificate of MTC

Ship Handling Simulator, classroom
