Description

This course provides training for officers who are assigned the duty of „safety officer“ onboard. The safety officer will, in close cooperation with the master, improve the ship‘s safety standard and assist in risk assessment. He will report any deficiencies immediately to the Master.

Objectives

The following Subjects will be covered :

  • Overview of typical job profiles and responsibilities of safety officer position on a passenger vessel
  • Overview of ship’s meetings and trainings
  • Overview of FF and LSA maintanance plan
  • Overview of risk assessment management
  • Overview of incident and accident investigation and necessary reports
  • Overview of investigation and record of „near miss“
  • Promotion of safety culture on board
